  2. Hi BGAH Team,

Fantastic work on the investigations and on your website, impressed with how you work, I can see you guys share a great passion for paranormal investigations much like myself and can see you have investigated some amazing top haunts too. Just dropping by mainly to just say keep up the great work and hope to cross your path sometime, am always up for doing an joint investigation plus my paranormal team work within a suitable good paranormal unity within the field and to learn from other groups on how they investigate, such a learning curve this field is.

    Happy Hunting BGAH

    Kindest Regards

  4. Swanshurst Park Ghost!
On a rainy night a young girl crying dressed in a pink top & short shirt walks throught the park round the back of the boat house then there's a flash of light & she disappears by the bushes. She has been seen since the early 80's by anglers night fishing on numerous occasions always wearing the same clothes.
Does anyone know the story behind it?
    Have you seen her?
Is this the reason the boat house is no more?

have never found out the story but would like to know what happened?

    comments so far from facebook..
facebook user- yes i use to see her in the early 80s, I remember the story at the time being that a young girl called sarah fell in and drowned.

facebook user- My Husband & his mates used to see her, Paul Duggan followed her & asked her if she was alright, she answered him with a yes, then she went to the bushes there was a flash of light then disappeared in front of him.

  8. have been interested in the paranormal for many years. I was first iaffected by such phenomena when I was a baby, but didnt realise that these things werrent normal until I turned 11. The thing is I was raised in a number of pubs in the Birmingham area from a very young child. The Crossways, The Swan Washwood Heath, The Queens Arms and The Pint Pot. There were some extremely disturbing expereinces at all of the above unfortunately as few of these public houses are now demolished but whatever will be built upon these site will sure have the aftershock that is spiritual activity.

Here are a few things me and my family experienced........

My mother and father were in the bar during a busy time serving the customers when the whole pub were alerted to a massive bang upstairs like there had been an explosion. My mum and dad ran upstairs and straight into the room I was sleeping (3 months of age) and I was completemy covered with the blankets and fighting for my breathe..... it seems something was trying to alert my mum and dad to the fact I was suffocating. .... nowhere in the pub had there been an explosion of any kind or anythign to explain what had caused the noise.

Another occasion My aunty and Uncle were staying in the living quarters and were woken to the noise of running water.. they both sat upright and witnessed the shadow of a man that appeared to be urinating in the corner of the room and then he disappeared. (that room was apparently a toilet in a hotel prior to being a public house)

Another time my mother had gone into the toilet in the living quarters and there was a knock on the door.. she asked who it was and there was no reply she heard footsteps go away from the door down the corridor n return... my mother thought that my dad may have been playing a game and when the footsteps returnd outside the door she opened the door quickly to scare him but there was noone there...just a cold breeze.

Another time my father had gone to chnage the barrel in the cellar and was grabbed around his neck ... a similar thing had happened to other employees who had said they had been down there and someone had shouted Oi!!!! but there was noone else down there.

But the most shocking was when my mother was awoken to a noise and when she looked over to my cot she saw I had been lifted out of my cot and was being held above it with two indentations where what should have been hands in the blanket that had covered me.

There was a room in the living quarters and there was another room adjacent to it that could not be entered as the door to it would only open partially and not enough to get inside.. noone was able to open the door and to be honest didnt try to hard as we had a dog called Shane a German Shepherd and he would go to the door and then cry and run and hide in the bedroom with all his fur on end. When my dad would go to look to see if there was an intruder everything was secure

Last but not least my mother had locked up for the night and whilst she was behind the bar cleaning up there was an old lady sitting in the lounge my mum explained that the pub was closed and she should have left ages ago the lady didnt say a word so when my mum emerged from the bar to where the old lady had been sitting she had gone and the doors were still locked. my mum and the barmaid looked everywhere for her but she had vanished.

There were lots of other things that happened in these pubs but those above were the most significant but it didnt end there... when we moved whatever was there didnt stay there it follwed us and according to my mum it follwed me as when I moved out all of the strange phenomena that was regular ... for her just stopped but me for it just carries on some things scarier than others and its not a weekly or monthly thing it just happens when it happens so I never know when ! It doesnt really scare me anymore , just intrigues me ....

  9. Thank you all very much for your warm comments. I was very interested to see a few about Whiteladies Priory. I must admit even though it is a beautiful place to visit it does give you the creeps! I haven't been for a while now but last time I was there I was disheartened by the fact that some think it is acceptable to fly tip and also light fires within and surrounding the ruins. I would hope that English Heritage has done something about this, I think a big clear-up operation was much needed.
If anyone has been recently can you please post a progress report on here.
    Thanks Guys
    xx

  11. Hi Jo,
Hope all well. We went to The Station Hotel a couple of weeks back, what a change. We did quite well there in the rooms, i got taken over by the nasty John again, amd all going well. The cellars were a little disappointing though, compared to our last 5 visits. Very quiet, shackles and stuff on the walls? Why?.
The Barrels had been moved from the long corridor, by the dray steps.
We had heard the same story of Elizabeth being under the doorway outside, suddenly the new chap there now says she's under the bar!. I don't know whats happened there, but although Haunted, it seems to lack that familier earieness we have felt before. £2.50 to go down to the cellars now, which is new. Down to Health and Safety measures which should have been in place a long time ago.
Let me know what you think

  12. I've just found you, but looks like I've missed the boat, as I see you have just announced that your group will no longer be actively working in the field as investigators.

I Googled "Ghostbusters Birmingham", and found you via the BBC website. A friend in Birmingham had a possible poltergeist she wanted investigating and asked me for advice, so I found you as you were far more local to her than me.

Incidentally, I have a photograph which may be of a ghost / spirit, which a friend took. I included it in a documentary I made about haunted institutions for disabled people "Another World". The relevant clip can be found on my "DoctorNabsTalkPSI" YouTube channel.

  20. I came on to BGAH because i recently visited WhiteLadies Priory. As soon as i walked round the ruins i felt uneasy, as if someone was watching me. i'm open minded but never have experienced anything like that before. as soon as i left the grounds the feeling went, spooky. i'm so intrigued, that i want to go back, but perhaps at night.

  22. Wonderful site! Keep up the good work!
I lived in Billesley, Birmingham, near Swanshurst Park and my brother and I both experienced ghostly activity in that park on two occasions. Both incidents occurred close to where the old boat house stood. The first sighting was at dusk about fifteen years ago when we both saw ahead of us a figure standing still near the boat house. As we approached we saw that the figure had no upper body, just legs! It remained for a short while as we got closer and disappeared. The other incident a little later, also at dusk: my brother and I walked along the same path near the boat house and a figure appeared before us as if from nowhere and walked towards us as if he could not see us. He wore a nineteen-thirties style hat and raincoat and my brother and I both parted to let him pass. Once he was behind us we turned to look at him and he was no longer there; there was nowhere for him to hide so he had disappeared as quickly as he appeared. I've heard tales of suicides in the lake but nothing definite. I wonder if anyone else has had any experiences in Swanshurst Park?

  35. We have some history about White Ladies Priory on this site. We also have an investigation report on here too. I can tell you that it's quite an eerie place indeed. It's just a shame that vandals have been there and it is also very sad that it has been used as a tipping ground. I hope this has now been cleaned up! But please go up there and have a look around the priory, it's well worth a visit. If you need any specific info let me know and I will see if I can help.
